Justyna helped us with an extensive renovation after we bought a new home, and she was very helpful with ideas and putting what we wanted into practice, including coordinating painters and contractors. She made it very easy for us, communicates very well, explains things very well, and her expertise is really broad. She can really read what you’d like and she’s not pushy, I really like her style. We’re very happy with her and we’re even looking to engage with her again for another smaller project.

Adham did very well. He responded to my call quickly and handled a seemingly difficult lock in a couple of minutes, and he was a very friendly guy. He did a very good job keeping me updated with time, and I was happy with the price, especially since it was the weekend. I would absolutely hire him again and recommend him to family and friends.

I’ve been to Cheyenne three or four times for foot treatment, and she made my feet feel much better over time. The place is small and cozy, everything looks very new, and she’s very careful with hygiene, which was exactly what I was looking for. It was also close to where I live, and the price felt fair. There don’t seem to be many of these foot treatment places in the city, so I’m very happy with what she’s done for me.

What to know about health & medical in Amsterdam

Two things are worth knowing before you book anything medical in Amsterdam. Dental tariffs are set nationally by the NZa, so the price for a given treatment is the same wherever you go, and routine adult dental care is not in the basisverzekering, though children under eighteen are covered. Therapies like osteopathy are not in basic cover either but are often partly reimbursed from aanvullende insurance, which does not touch your eigen risico. Register with a practice early, because waiting lists are real.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my dentist's price the same everywhere?
Because the NZa sets a maximum tariff per treatment code nationally and a dentist may not charge above it. What does vary is techniekkosten, the lab and materials on things like crowns and dentures, which are billed separately.
What does my insurance actually cover?
Basic insurance covers a lot of medical care but not routine adult dentistry and not most alternative therapies. Aanvullende, the supplementary policy, is what pays toward those, usually up to a capped amount a year, and it does not use up your eigen risico.
Are prices in Amsterdam quoted with or without BTW?
Check, because it varies. A price quoted to a consumer should already include BTW, and most trades show it that way, but plenty of price lists are still written excluding it. The rate is 21% on most work, though labour on a home more than two years old is taxed at 9%, and so are sports and fitness classes.
How do I check a business in Amsterdam is properly registered?
Ask for the KvK number and look it up in the Chamber of Commerce register, which is free and public. It tells you the business exists, what it is registered to do and how long it has been trading. Anyone who will not give you that number is telling you something useful.
How are businesses ranked here?
On their reviews, and every review is phone-verified, which means we confirm the person actually used the business before it goes live. Nobody can pay to move up the list.
How much do alternative medicine cost in Amsterdam?
An alternative medicine session in Amsterdam costs €60 to €135, and an aanvullende policy may repay €75 to €1,000 a year.
How much do dentists cost in Amsterdam?
Dutch dental tariffs are national NZa maximums, so a check-up is €28.51 (code C002) at any Amsterdam practice, but adults pay it themselves unless they hold extra dental cover.
How much do osteopaths cost in Amsterdam?
An osteopathy session in Amsterdam costs €84 on average, usually €56 to €112, and supplementary insurance often refunds part of it without touching your deductible.
How much do physiotherapists cost in Amsterdam?
Physiotherapists in Amsterdam charge around €45 to €55 for a regular session, €55 to €75 for the intake and €55 to €65 for manual therapy, with home visits adding €15 to €20 on top.
