I've been going to Binita for about two years, every three weeks or so, for manicure and foot care, and I also do hair removal, hair cutting, hair toning, and eyebrows there. The quality of the work is very good, and I keep going back because I’m happy with it. Communication is good, she is very kind, and the price feels fair, especially since she always gives me a discount. It’s also very close to my house, which makes it very convenient.

A salon I recommend to all expats. I came in with dull hair, and Leonardo managed to make my hair shine. The products he used are also excellent, thank you!

I hired Lilia for my wedding makeup, and she also teamed up with a hairstylist so I had both hair and makeup handled. We started with a call to talk through what I wanted, she gave me skincare tips, had me fill a form with venue and timing, and we did a tryout at their salon - super organized, very responsive, and easy to talk to by email and then WhatsApp. On the day it felt like friends coming into my house, they were super flexible with hours, and the look was exactly what I was hoping for. Price felt affordable compared to what friends paid, and she even connected me with a day planner that really saved my day when I was overwhelmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What expats want to know before hiring makeup artists & hair stylists in Lisbon.
Are there English-speaking makeup artists & hair stylists in Lisbon?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring makeup artists & hair stylists in Lisbon?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring makeup artists & hair stylists in Lisbon?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Portuguese is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say makeup artists & hair stylists in Portuguese?
In Portuguese, makeup artists & hair stylists are usually called maquilhadores e cabeleireiros. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find makeup artists & hair stylists I can trust in Lisbon?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.
