I first got in touch with Kathy when we had our first baby and my husband was away, and I just wanted an extra pair of hands around the house and a bit more tips on eating and sleeping. She came a couple of times for a few hours each and was super helpful, a real voice of reason, and she made herself very useful, tidying the kitchen while I was putting the baby to bed or feeding him. She offered tips from breastfeeding through to bottle technique, weaning and solids, and it was really reassuring to have her there as an expat without family around. She was like a mum basically, a really nice person to have in the house at that time of life, and the value felt fair.

We lined up Kathy when we were expecting our third, because my wife’s pregnancy with our second was quite difficult and we thought she might be out of action for a while after the birth. In the end the birth was pretty good, but we had Kathy there anyway to help with the kids and the new baby, and she was amazing. She was really good with the older kids, really good with the little one, and she took a lot of the pressure off us while we got to grips with having a third kid in the house.

I hired Kathy for my two pregnancies in 2021 and 2023 for doula services and postnatal doula services. Communication was great and I was really happy with the service, I give her a 10! I have recommended her to other friends and colleagues as well, and I would recommend her.

Frequently Asked Questions
What people want to know before hiring perinatal support in Singapore.
What should I check before hiring perinatal support in Singapore?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and a price in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check the credential yourself rather than taking it on trust.
How are prices quoted in Singapore?
Watch for prices shown with "++". That means 10% service charge and 9% GST are added on top, so a quoted S$100 is really about S$120. Ask whether a figure is nett before you compare two quotes.
Do I need a licensed professional in Singapore?
For some trades, yes, and it is not optional. Electrical work needs an EMA licensed electrical worker, plumbing that touches the public supply needs a PUB licensed plumber, and building work falls under BCA. Ask for the licence number.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other people's reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and turns up when they said they would.
What should I avoid when hiring perinatal support in Singapore?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I find perinatal support I can trust in Singapore?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real experience, not who paid the most.
