Surabhi

Singapore, Jun 2026

I was referred here by an orthopedic specialist and wanted a nearby clinic, and so far after two appointments it has been good. Zhi has been very approachable with my questions and queries, and with the consultation and explaining my condition, he has been caring and professional. I think he will help me regarding the pain I’m having. The only thing is I feel it is a bit overpriced for a 45 minute session, but I would still recommend him for sure.

I’ve been with them for around three years, and it has been pretty good. They are really good physio, very professional, and the space is nice. The service is very good and I’m super happy with them. I gladly give them a 10 for all criteria.

Sureen did the interior design for my living room and dining room, and she has an eye for design and did it really well. She gave a lot of options from the start, and we went through a few different designs until she really captured the vision I wanted. She came over personally on the execution day while everything was being put together, like the paintings and furniture, and overall, even though it was a limited scope, she did it very well. She has very fresh ideas, and if you want a different take, she’s very good with that.

What to know about mental health & therapy in Singapore

This is the one category in Singapore where the title tells you less than you would expect. Psychiatrists are medical doctors registered with the Singapore Medical Council, but counselling and psychotherapy are not regulated professions here, so anyone may use those titles. What exists instead is a voluntary register kept by the Singapore Association for Counselling, whose members have met set training and supervision requirements. Asking whether someone is on it is a fair and normal question. Locallista lists therapists, counsellors and psychologists in Singapore, screened before listing and ranked only on phone-verified reviews, so you can see who actually helped people.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my counsellor registered with anyone?
Possibly, but it is voluntary. Counselling and psychotherapy are not licensed professions in Singapore, so the meaningful check is the Singapore Association for Counselling register, whose members have met training, supervision and ethics requirements. Ask directly, and ask what qualification they hold.
What is the difference between a counsellor, a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
A psychiatrist is a doctor and the only one of the three who can prescribe medication. A psychologist has postgraduate training in psychology and may do assessments and structured therapy. Counsellor is the least defined title here, which is why the register and reviews matter most for that one.
Will my insurance cover therapy?
Sometimes for psychiatric treatment, rarely for counselling, and it varies a lot by plan and by employer. Check your policy wording before the first session rather than after, and ask the practice whether they can issue the kind of receipt your insurer wants.
Do I need a referral?
Not for private counselling or a private psychologist, where you can book directly. A GP referral helps if you want subsidised care in the public system, or if medication might be part of the picture and you would rather start with a doctor.
Is what I say kept confidential?
Yes, with the narrow exceptions any professional will explain at the start, mainly around serious risk of harm. If you are worried about an employer knowing, note that seeing someone privately and paying yourself keeps it separate from a company insurance claim.
