I was referred here by an orthopedic specialist and wanted a nearby clinic, and so far after two appointments it has been good. Zhi has been very approachable with my questions and queries, and with the consultation and explaining my condition, he has been caring and professional. I think he will help me regarding the pain I’m having. The only thing is I feel it is a bit overpriced for a 45 minute session, but I would still recommend him for sure.

Sureen did the interior design for my living room and dining room, and she has an eye for design and did it really well. She gave a lot of options from the start, and we went through a few different designs until she really captured the vision I wanted. She came over personally on the execution day while everything was being put together, like the paintings and furniture, and overall, even though it was a limited scope, she did it very well. She has very fresh ideas, and if you want a different take, she’s very good with that.

Amrita is an amazing baker and really dedicated to making sure any order is crafted to customer needs. I have ordered cakes from her several times, including parties for my son with a lot of boys at the rugby field, and she provided packaging and solutions so it was not troublesome at all to serve. The taste is amazing, and the cakes look very natural with flowers and edible leaves, really decent. I also like that I can rely on her for special occasions and personalized notes, and it always feels like good value for money.

What to know about travel & leisure in Singapore

Travel is one of the better regulated categories in Singapore, which is useful when you are handing over money months before a trip. Travel agents must hold a licence from the Singapore Tourism Board, and licensing comes with paid-up capital requirements, so an agency selling packages without one is a risk to avoid. Anyone paid to guide tourists in person also needs a tourist guide licence, which involves a real training course. Both are worth checking, because the whole point of booking through an agent rather than direct is that someone stands behind the arrangement. Locallista lists travel agents, tour operators and leisure providers in Singapore, screened before listing and ranked only on phone-verified reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a travel agent need a licence in Singapore?
Yes. Selling travel packages requires a licence from the Singapore Tourism Board, and licensed agencies have to meet paid-up capital requirements. Since you are usually paying well before you travel, that requirement is the main thing standing between your deposit and an agency that folds.
Do tour guides need to be licensed?
Yes, anyone paid to guide tourists in person needs a tourist guide licence, which follows a formal training course and assessment. Licensed guides carry the licence and are generally happy to show it. It is a fair thing to ask about when booking a private tour.
How do I check an agency before paying a deposit?
Confirm the licence, look the company up on ACRA's public record, and read recent reviews rather than a rating alone. Pay by a traceable method that offers some recourse, and be wary of a discount that is only available if you transfer the full amount immediately.
Is it worth booking through an agent at all?
For a simple flight, rarely. For multi-country trips, group travel, visas or anything where something going wrong mid-journey would be hard to fix alone, an agent earns their fee. Ask specifically what support you get while you are away, since that is the real difference.
What happens if my trip is cancelled?
It depends on the terms you agreed and on your insurance far more than on goodwill. Read the cancellation and amendment terms before paying, ask what is refundable at each stage, and buy travel insurance early, since cover for cancellation usually starts when you buy it.
How much do travel agents cost in Singapore?
Travel agents in Singapore usually charge you nothing on packages, flights, hotels and cruises, since the supplier pays their commission, and a bespoke planning fee runs to a few hundred dollars.
