Gerardo

Argentina/Barcelona, Sep 2025

Roxana helped me first to find the flat and go see it, and she also put me in touch with people to sort out the mortgage. She answered super fast every time and was very serious and formal, which was a big change from others who were a bit informal and left me hanging. She showed me several places based on what I liked and got me in to see the one I ended up buying, and the timing was good even though buying in Barcelona is not easy. The price felt fair and I am very satisfied with the whole process.

Barcelona, Jul 2025

Anne was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable throughout my home buying/selling process. She took the time to understand what I was looking for and always made herself available to answer my questions, no matter how small. Anne's attention to detail helped me feel confident in my decisions, and her friendly approach made the experience enjoyable. I appreciated her honesty when discussing properties, which really built trust between us. She was very knowledgeable about how to decorate and what prices to sell my flats at. My expericne overall has been nothing but positive.

Agustina

Barcelona, Mar 2026

I was looking for an apartment and she had one listed that interested us, so we met and she showed us the place, and we ended up closing the deal. She was always on time, knew everything about the apartment, and gave us a folder with complete information to review later. She was always available and kept looking for other options that might interest us. I really, really recommend her.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring real estate agents in Barcelona.

Are there English-speaking real estate agents in Barcelona?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring real estate agents in Barcelona?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
Who pays the agency fee in Barcelona, the buyer or the seller?
On a sale the seller pays the agency, as a percentage of the price agreed in the listing mandate, and the buyer pays nothing to that agent. On a long-term rental the landlord pays the agency since the 2023 housing law, so a tenant should not be asked for a fee. A buyer who hires a search agent to work for them pays that agent directly. The figures are in the price section above.
Should the estate agent be licensed in Barcelona?
Yes, and it protects you. In Spain, use a registered agent (ask for their API or local register number). Ask for it before signing anything, especially with the contracts in the local language.
What should I avoid when hiring real estate agents in Barcelona?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later. And never use someone who cannot show the right certification.
How do you say real estate agents in Spanish?
In Spanish, real estate agents are usually called agentes inmobiliarios. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find real estate agents I can trust in Barcelona?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.
