Hazkel

Madrid, Jul 2026

Julio is not only incredible humanly, he is a great human being and an excellent dentist with incredible hands. I had a pretty big treatment with him, including a crown and work on two molars, and it lasted more than a year and a half, almost two years, and the experience was incredible. His team is also incredible, kind, and they make you feel at home, like family, you are not a number, you are a patient and a human. I have nothing bad to say, only gratitude, and I have recommended him a lot with my eyes closed.

Madrid, Jun 2026

I went in for veneers and it went well, it’s all done and over with now. Everything was comfortable and they were very organized. The only thing I would mention is that, from my perspective, the doctor who treated me didn’t seem to speak any English, which was a bit of a struggle, but we managed. The price was higher than I expected but still reasonable.

Marco

Atlanta, May 2026

I have known this dentist studio for more than 15 years, and even after I left Madrid I still go back when I am in Spain for routine check-ups or special work. They have done surgery-type work for me and my wife, including implants, and the materials they use are the best with very up-to-date technology and machines. Everyone I have recommended there has been very happy, and the other dentists and hygienists have also done absolutely great work. Very good, very experienced, high quality work - I highly recommend them.

How much do dentists cost in Madrid?

Real price ranges from the jobs our vetted dentists actually do. Prices updated September 2026

Cosmetic bonding

How much does cosmetic bonding cost in Madrid?

Bonding is composite resin shaped onto the tooth to fix a chip, close a small gap or even out a worn edge, so it's priced per tooth and by how much of the surface is rebuilt. A small front-tooth repair costs about the same as a large aesthetic filling; a composite veneer covering the whole face of the tooth costs more. It's the cheaper alternative to porcelain, so ask how long the clinic expects it to last and what a touch-up costs.

Composite repair on a front tooth
€120 to €250
Composite build-up on a back tooth
from around €135
Composite veneer (full-face bonding)
around €380

Veneers

How much do veneers cost in Madrid?

Veneers are priced per tooth and the material is the whole story: composite costs less than half of porcelain. Two Madrid clinics publish their own figures, composite at around €380 to €400 a tooth and porcelain from about €850, so a full smile of several teeth adds up fast. Ask what happens if one chips and what the clinic charges to replace it.

Composite veneer, per tooth
€380 to €400
Porcelain veneer, per tooth
from around €850
Madrid clinic guide range, any material
€400 to €900 per tooth

Teeth whitening

How much does teeth whitening cost in Madrid?

A single in-clinic session with LED or laser is the entry point, and pairing it with custom home trays roughly doubles the price. It's cosmetic, so no insurance covers it, and clinics run frequent promotions (two-for-one deals are common), so it's worth asking. Results depend on your teeth, so ask the dentist what to expect before paying.

In-clinic session (LED or laser)
€180 to €400
Clinic session plus home trays
€350 to €720
Dentist-supervised home kit
€250 to €300
Top-up or maintenance session
around €100

Crowns and bridges

How much do crowns and bridges cost in Madrid?

The material sets the price: a metal-ceramic crown is the budget option, and zirconia or all-ceramic costs roughly double but looks more natural on a front tooth. A crown usually follows a root canal, so ask for the combined quote. Madrid sits about 10% above the Spanish average, and it's worth asking what guarantee the clinic gives on the crown and getting it in writing.

Metal-ceramic crown
€200 to €400
Zirconia or all-ceramic crown
€400 to €700
Bridge on your own teeth
from around €1,600
Bridge on implants
from around €2,000

Full-mouth restoration

How much does a full-mouth restoration cost in Madrid?

This is quoted case by case, since it depends on how many teeth are missing, whether you have enough bone for implants and how much is fixed versus removable. A premium Madrid clinic lists a full rehabilitation on implants from around €10,000, and on a plan this size a second opinion can save you €500 to €2,000. Insist on a panoramic X-ray or 3D scan and an itemised written plan before you agree to anything.

Full rehabilitation on implants, premium clinic
from around €10,000
Fixed hybrid prosthesis on implants
from around €8,200
3D scan to plan the work
€80 to €150
Mixed plan (crowns, implants, gum work)
quoted after a scan

Dental implants

How much does a dental implant cost in Madrid?

Always ask whether the quote includes the crown: the €399 or €750 implant adverts from the big chains usually cover the screw alone, with the crown and surgery on top. A complete single implant with its crown runs €700 to €900 at a low-cost chain, €1,000 to €1,600 at an independent clinic and up to €2,500 at the premium end, before any bone graft. A serious clinic guarantees the implant for at least five years and takes a panoramic X-ray before quoting.

Single implant with crown, low-cost chain
€700 to €900
Single implant with crown, independent clinic
€1,000 to €1,600
Single implant with crown, premium clinic
€1,600 to €2,500
Bone graft or sinus lift, if needed
€800 to €1,000

Dentures

How much do dentures cost in Madrid?

A removable acrylic denture is the cheapest route, a metal-framework partial costs more, and anything fixed on implants jumps into the thousands. The public system doesn't cover prostheses for adults, dental insurance takes 30 to 60% off, and clinics on the outskirts (Alcorcón, Móstoles, Getafe) run around 20% cheaper than the centre for exactly this kind of work.

Removable partial or full denture
€300 to €1,500
Metal-framework partial denture
from around €550
Implant-retained overdenture
from around €5,300
Fixed hybrid prosthesis on implants
from around €8,200

Endodontist (root canal)

How much does a root canal cost in Madrid?

The number of roots decides the price: a front tooth has one canal, a molar has three or more and takes longer. Low-cost chains start around €120, independent clinics sit in the €200 to €300 band, and re-treating a failed root canal costs more than the first attempt. Most root-canalled teeth then need a crown, so ask for the combined quote up front.

Front tooth (single root)
€120 to €280
Molar (three or more roots)
€200 to €450
Re-treatment of a failed root canal
around €450
Crown afterwards, if needed
€200 to €550

Oral surgery

How much does oral surgery cost in Madrid?

A surgical extraction of a broken or impacted tooth is the most common job; gum and bone grafts mostly come up as preparation for implants. The graft figures below are one specialist Madrid clinic's published tariff, so treat them as the upper end and get a second quote. Ask whether the X-ray or CT scan, the follow-up visit and any sedation are included, since those are usually billed separately.

Surgical extraction (impacted or broken tooth)
€120 to €250
Gum graft
from around €625
Bone graft
from around €820
Sinus lift before upper implants
around €950

Orthodontist (braces and aligners)

How much do braces or aligners cost in Madrid?

Metal braces are the cheapest, clear sapphire brackets and aligners like Invisalign cost more, and lingual braces hidden behind the teeth are the priciest. Treatment runs 12 to 24 months and nearly every clinic lets you pay monthly, often interest-free, so compare the total rather than the instalment. For a treatment this long, get two quotes and check the orthodontist's COEM registration (Madrid's dental college).

Metal braces, full treatment
€1,800 to €3,500
Clear sapphire brackets
€3,000 to €3,400
Clear aligners (Invisalign or similar)
€2,500 to €5,000
Lingual braces (behind the teeth)
from around €5,000

Periodontist (gums)

How much does a periodontist cost in Madrid?

A standard cleaning is what most people need and it's cheap; treating receding or bleeding gums properly (a deep clean under the gum line) is a different bracket, with maintenance visits afterwards. The periodontal figures below are one specialist Madrid clinic's published tariff, so get a second quote. Adults are entitled to a free yearly check-up and basic cleaning through the public system, a good way to find out whether you need a specialist at all.

Standard cleaning (scale and polish)
€35 to €120
Periodontal treatment (deep clean under the gum)
from around €480
Periodontal maintenance visit
from around €120
Gum graft for receding gums
from around €625

Wisdom tooth removal

How much does wisdom tooth removal cost in Madrid?

An erupted wisdom tooth that comes out cleanly is priced like a slightly harder extraction; one that's impacted, tilted or near the nerve becomes a surgical job that costs considerably more, and the clinic will want a panoramic X-ray or 3D scan first, billed separately. Simple extractions are one of the few things the public SERMAS covers, so if yours isn't complicated, ask your health centre before paying privately. Check whether the follow-up visit is included.

Erupted wisdom tooth, straightforward
€100 to €150
Impacted or surgical removal
€150 to €250
Panoramic X-ray beforehand
€20 to €60
3D CT scan if it's near the nerve
€80 to €150

Children's dentist

How much does a children's dentist cost in Madrid?

Under-16s get free dental check-ups at the public SERMAS health centres (Madrid's public health service), but fillings and anything beyond a simple extraction mean a private clinic. Children's fillings and extractions are priced like adult ones, and the neighbourhood matters: the same job runs 15 to 30% more in Salamanca or Chamberí than in Vallecas or Carabanchel. Most clinics give the first visit free, so use it to get a written, itemised quote before anything starts.

Public check-up (SERMAS, under 16)
free
Filling (same rate as for adults)
€40 to €110
Baby tooth extraction
€30 to €60
Early (interceptive) braces
from around €1,470

Sedation / anxiety dentistry

How much does sedation dentistry cost in Madrid?

Conscious sedation is charged per session on top of the treatment, and the published figures are far apart: a national guide puts it at €200 to €400, while one premium Madrid clinic lists it at around €1,300. Ask exactly what type of sedation it is, who administers it and for how long. If you or your child can't cope with a normal dentist because of a recognised disability of more than 33%, the public SERMAS hospitals treat under general anaesthesia, by referral from your health centre.

Conscious sedation, national guide range
€200 to €400
Conscious sedation, premium Madrid clinic
around €1,300
General anaesthesia (SERMAS, disability over 33%)
free, by referral

Emergency dental care

How much does an emergency dentist cost in Madrid?

In a real emergency the public SERMAS health centres (Madrid's public health service) will see you for free, though they only cover extractions and infections, not fillings or root canals. Private clinics charge their normal consultation plus whatever treatment you need, and the few that open at night or on holidays add a surcharge, so ask the price before you sit down. When you're in pain and trying to explain where it hurts, an English-speaking dentist makes a real difference.

Public emergency (SERMAS health centre)
free
Urgent private consultation
free to around €80
Emergency extraction
€30 to €180
Root canal to settle the pain
€120 to €450

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring dentists in Madrid.

Are there English-speaking dentists in Madrid?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring dentists in Madrid?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
Are the doctors and dentists properly registered in Madrid?
Yes. Doctors and dentists must be registered, as colegiado with the relevant Colegio in Spain. Reputable private clinics will confirm their professionals' registration.
What should I avoid when hiring dentists in Madrid?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later. And never use someone who cannot show the right certification.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say dentists in Spanish?
In Spanish, dentists are usually called dentistas. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find dentists I can trust in Madrid?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.
